I just found out that when I say that I’m fiscally conservative but socially liberal, I’m just shortchanging my ideologies. To say that I’m for liberty all of the time would be a more accurate assessment.
And while I’m still figuring out where I stand on some
Issues, by theory, I stand on the side of liberty.
I may not morally agree with someone’s choice, but politically I’d still side with them.
The reason why is that if it involves the government usurping control over someone’s being and property, I cannot in good faith passively let that thing go.
Because if the government can do it to one of us, then they can do it to all of us.
Fighting for freedom shouldn’t be just for issues you agree with. We should do it as well for the issues we disagree with.
In closing, I personally urge you to reconsider your positions on political issues. It really is okay to morally differ from your political issues. The ultimate question is this: would you want someone forcing their views upon you legally? If not, how does your ideology line up in the same manner?
